BusTed in the Zoo

Hi again,
Here are some sights from Dubbo Zoo......now, as does everyone else... We think We got the best shots of the animals in the zoo...... see what you think.

"Ready.... and bend to the left"

"If I stand on my tippy toes I am just a little bit taller!"
"No, I am"

Really energetic people walk around the zoo.... fit people ride push bikes...while we slovenly ones ride motorbikes.

Now....say "AHHH"

now say "EEEEEE"

Ellen ,Ellen, Ellen

The next two shots Ellen took whilst on the back of the bike, well done I say.

That was a great day, tiring but great.
Next stop Wellington to catch up with some old friends, then home for a few days.

Till next time,

Busted in Parkes

Hi everybody,
We were cruising along at 100km/hr in our beautiful big bus when out of the corner of our eyes, we spied a funny looking flying saucer?????

????????

Dr Spock???

Okay, so its actually the CSIRO Radio Telescope about 20km north of Parkes.

Ellen is so strong she can move it herself.

Look at these two skinny minnies.

and 3D wackos!!

Seriously, this place is awesome, its free and fascinating worth a look if you ever get out that way.

We headed further north for our overnight stop south of Dubbo and came across some fellow bus people. The bus was named  "Dora" and she had a family of five plus two dogs living in her and travelling Australia.

It was quite picturesque and Ellen took this opportunity to snap this Where is Busted?? shot....ha  and she says I am a bit tricky???

Off to the zoo tomorrow, yeah.
Till next time

BusTed in Cohuna

Hello everyone,
We  put in a few miles today, past Cohuna,

Seriously.......we couldn't pass this one up!!!

dropped in at Swan Hill and saw what the art gallery had to offer, it was well worth it for this great monotype from a local artist...(sorry his name escapes me) and this photo does it no justice at all.

Where is BusTed???

Ellen suggested I may have been a bit tricky with the whole  "where is BusTed ?"pictures, so we took the one above on the Hay plains for you all to try to find her,

and this one ..

Our stop for the night was at a little place called Maude, just west of Hay,  right on the Murrumbidgee River.

This is one of those photos that you take and just think wow.
.....Early morning on the Murrumbidgee.

Then, its back on the road where we came across a part of the world that has a fascination of putting things on posts!!!!

One of my favourite movies is "Fried green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café"
so when we saw this ..we just had to stop.

They had the cutest little critters.
Now ,some may call this shire Bland...granted there were miles and miles of 'not a lot'.... but, not that
BLAND if you really look.

till next time

Busted in Leitchville

...on the road again.
We stayed overnight in a caravan park in Echuca, powered everything up and caught up on our washing and things.....a very, very long hot shower included, then with our trusty Camps 7 book in hand found a nice little town called Leitchville, with a free stopover.

This would be the best kept, prettiest rest stop yet. Very surprising, we went for a little walk in the afternoon around the main street, this was quick as it's a small town, and Ellen looked on the info board and found an historic railway station..... so of we went. It was a short walk and we found it in the middle of abandoned vehicles of all descriptions, it was just simply gorgeous. So charming that we went back early in the morning for photos and Ellen got the water colours out for an inspirational paint.

So good.

Time to hit the road again...

BusTed in Echuca....All the Rivers Run

Busted in Echuca

Well you really can't go to Echuca and not go on a paddleboat... or can you??
Naaah... got to do it. Introducing the" Emmy Lou" we signed up for a two hour cruise with the most delicious lunch cooked on board. Yuuuuummmmm. This was THE boat used in "All the Rivers Run," that beautiful tv series, starring Jon English and Singrid Thornton, for those who don't remember.

Here she is all ready for us.

This steam engine was all shiny and warm and had the most calming sound.

We also had one of the best tables in the place

This old paddle steamer was moored close to where we embarked and it used to travel up and down the Murray River with the preacher on board. It is still to this day recognised and registered as a "church" although sadly in a bit of disrepair.

                                                                        look starboard

                                                                          look port

look out.....

where's Ellen?? oh there she is.
the captain was letting off a bit of steam

we even had a full bar on deck.

what a perfect day.

It was the most relaxing and calming way to view this magnificent river, the constant chug of the steam engine coupled with the rhythmic paddle wheels in the water was just delightful.
We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring this lovely little town of Echuca, then headed up on our motorbike to pick up our beloved bus... now fixed...woohooo, well that was another little expensive exercise ...oh well that's life on the road.
Till next time
love and kisses
