BusTed in Rosebery

Hi Everyone,
This place is magnificent, we are on the Rosebery Foreshore not far out of Tullah heading down the west coast.
Ellen decided to take a dip.

The view is breathtaking.

So, I jumped in and joined her, lucky there was a French tourist handy to snap off this picture of us.

After a beautiful swim, Ellen pulled out her birthday present, and gave ME a massage.
(I love pressies)

The next day a storm brewed and it made for spectacular photos.

Noice.

With the sun back out, the reflections were a splendid sight.

Perhaps another dip ???

I spy with my little eye a PP ???

Yep, its a Penguin Pikelet.

Till next time
love
Ellen and Michelle

BusTed in Moina

Hello again.
Whoops this should have been posted before Cradle Mountain. Sorry.
Headed south through winding hills and little towns.
Lake Barrington at Wilmot was a beautiful place but wasn't a very pleasant camp site so we took photos and kept going.
How's this for picturesque? This was looking down on the same waterway.

These sheep were shedding their own fleece... what  the??

At Wilmot we saw the original Coles building, unfortunately it had  burnt down a couple of weeks prior so.....here are the remains of the original Coles store. Bit sad.

Then we arrived at Lake Gairdner at Moina. WOW.

How cute is this platypus, he'd turn up about 11 each morning and work his way up and down the lake bed.

This construction was left here, Michelle decided it looked like a meditation energy triangle. Don't think she got any mind blowing insights though.
I was hoping for Lotto numbers.

The water was cold, like all Tassie water so far. But the bridge made the photos interesting.

Another of Michelle's magic shots.

Oh no Michelle's lost BusTed again.
Where is BusTed?

This old building was on the road going out, uninhabited of course.

Till next time.
(Hopefully in correct order)
Bye from
Michelle and Ellen.

BusTed at Cradle Mountain

Hello all,
Now I know this information may be a bit shocking but Michelle and I did the 2hr, 7km walk around Lake Dove which is located in front of Cradle Mountain. It did take us 4hrs, we say because we like to meander, dip our feet in the water and appreciate the scenery... all right we also like to rest regularly and enjoyed a snack break as well.
Still we did it.

First stop Glacier Rock.

How gorgeous is this bark.

The paths on this side of the lake were so well maintained.

Beautiful pebbly swimming spots.

Gorgeous rainforest section.

Dry harsh land was at the foot of Cradle Mountain.

This forest had been named. I was thinking dancing, but Michelle thought otherwise, as always.

Cheeky.

Nearly done, here's a panoramic shot to give an idea of the distance.

TA DA

How amazing that we made it! We were so proud of ourselves, we might do more walks!

Going to lie down now.
Till next time,
Michelle and Ellen.

BusTed in Penguin

Hi Blogger Buddies,
AWESOME
we made it back to
PENGUIN!
Now I ask you ?? How do you miss a big penguin like this????

Well, we managed to somehow, we stopped on our way west and did our shopping, we did notice the garbage bin, but not the Big Penguin.

So, I say to Ellen lets go back to Penguin....well, we found heaps more of the little or big buggers.

They even have a loaf of bread with one on it.

We stayed right at the water, as usual, and had a few swims, nice.

In fact, the order went; the beach, us, a little road, a hedge, a train track ...and then houses.

Truly a beautiful spot, we love it. However, there are NO PENGUINS in Penguin...shame.
All the loggers killed them way back. Also, here is some trivia, Sulphur Creek and Penguin had their names mixed up a long time ago....well, Penguin liked the name sooo much, they wouldn't give it back.
No wonder we saw a penguin at Sulphur Creek.

This has amazed us since our arrival, there are no fences along the railway line.

Till next time

BusTed back in Boat Harbour Beach

Hi again,

We're a little behind, as always, but you can tell this time because it was the Australia day weekend.
We stayed at our usual spot, ha ha we sound like seasoned travellers eh? The water was once again clear, beautiful and freezing. Didn't stop us swimming. This rocky section was filled with so many variations in colour, really pretty.

There were plenty of happy campers, all ready to take advantage of the long weekend of magic weather.
Here is your 'Where's BusTed?"

A large number of young people and their alcohol arrived to celebrate in the "typical Aussie tradition" oh dear. Well apparently there was a police raid, which removed the under aged drinkers. We missed that because we were enjoying dinner and the band at the local surf life saving club and a visit with some friends we met, Wendy and Sebena.

This was the view from their veranda.

When we finally got back to the bus all the other campers had left and all the young people were gathered around Theodora, singing and generally having a good time, all at a very loud decibel. Needless to say we moved on and left them to it, opting to stay at Cooee point for the night.

When we pulled in a car stopped next to us to let us know our brake lights weren't working, how nice was that, anyway next day George and Sonya, travellers we'd met in Sulphur Creek, turned up so.... you guessed it, under the bus they go. Looks like more victims for Theodora.

Well we did learn the wicked witch of the west from the wizard of OZ was named Theodora.
MMM makes you wonder.
Till next time.
Michelle and Ellen.
