BusTed in Sulphur Creek

Hello all

So we're heading west across the northern edge of Tassie, coastal of course. First stop, Sulphur creek. Much to my delight right next to a cargo train line, amazingly there was little or no fences bordering the tracks, no OH&S rules here. Better photos though.

Being beautiful weather we decided on a dip.... OMG very cold, but refreshing. I  hope Tassie can handle these views.

The sand was interesting, quite coarse and rich in colour. It stuck like glue too.

All around the point were amazing rocks, the orange colour is a fungus apparently. Quite striking.

And here's the first Tassie
 Where's BusTed ?

We'd camped at a recognised penguin nesting spot, so we stayed up till dark to spot our first "penguin in the wild", very exciting. We'd read the rules eg be quiet and still, stay out of their path use a red light to protect  their eyes and no flash on the camera. We were ready, Michelle made a red torch and the camera was on flashless while we sat quietly on our chairs waiting. At 10 30 ish just after Michelle mentioned giving up and going to bed, I looked down at my foot and there was a penguin walking past. I yelled to Michelle "look at my foot" while madly grabbing for the camera which I had somehow managed to sit on. Michelle leaped up in excitement with her torch waving madly and the penguin took off running with Michelle running behind. mmm not quite how we planned to behave. So here is our prize penguin photo.

As you can see its a little blurry and red, but we love it.
The next day provided a perfect train photo opportunity.

I love trains.
See, no fence, better photo.

Till next time.
Michelle and Ellen.
xx

ps. This is another red fuzzy shot of our little frightened friend.....notice how close he is to the bus.

BusTed is BoaTed

Woohoo !!
A dream come true.

This is so exciting the Spirit Of Tassie is in the background. Melbourne has put on a lovely 40 deg heatwave for us, nice to be getting on the boat.

The queue is long and hot, but there is a certain buzzzzz of excitement in the air.

Was that a buzzzz or Ellen?

Here is Theodora all snuggled up in her bed ready to cross the Strait.

Here is our snuggle up spot...its a lovely cabin.

The views from on deck are superb.

Leaving the Mainland amidst crazy arse jet skiers.

Now, you couldn't have wished for more perfect weather, the trip across was so calm and pleasant. We arrived in Devonport feeling totally ready for anything.

Bring it on Tassie.
WE ARE HERE.

Till next time
love from
Ellen and Michelle

BusTed in Point Leo

Hi Everyone,
we are back into it.
We travelled down the Hume Hwy towards Point Leo to stay at my brothers place.
This is a shot of Theodora in the main street of Chiltern we had the worst summer colds and stopped off to get some medicine, charming little town.

So here we are in Point Leo at Bruce and Jannettes' home, awesome backyard... and who did we find camped next to us? My sister Shazz.

Plenty of time for a friendly game of pool.

A leisurely stroll along the beach, which is only a 3 minute walk from Bruces'...niooce.

Shazz drove us over to Frankston to see the sand sculptures, they were AMAZING.,

My personal favourite..

..and Ellen loves Hairy Maclary.

Another beautiful day we went to the Pig and Whistle with Kelly (my niece and her two children Indiana and the new little Archie..)

You can see the family resemblance.

aaahhhhh beautiful boy, more of Archie to come.,

This place had stuff all over the walls and ceiling, this one tickled my fancy.

Sleeping beauty is now awake.

We also went to Ciao Bella for Jannettes  birthday, it was delicious, Tiarne and Charlotte my nieces and Chris, Kellys' hubby, joined us as well as Shazz and Andy.

There's a certain theme here for these pics.

My beautiful brother Bruce, love him.

We set up an outdoor theatre with the trampoline as a screen, it was so good, we watched
Pitch Perfect (again) Saving Mr Banks, Frozen and Gravity.

The beautiful Ellen with Archie.

So sweet.

Now, who'd have thought there where leprechauns on the beach ??

We had a lovely afternoon when Samantha and Ahlia came to visit.

It was a great two weeks with them all.....now we are off to
TASSIE
BYE.

Till next time
love
